Instructions
1. Trace and cut out one numeral for each child in the class.
2. When children are sitting in a circle, place one numeral behind each child.
3. Select one child to walk around the circle looking for the numeral 1 while the rest of the children recite the following rhyme:I go around and go around,And pick a number off the ground.I pick number (number the child is looking for).
4. When the child finds the numeral 1, she picks it up and sits down.
5. The child who had the numeral 1 behind her then stands up and goes around the circle, looking for the numeral 2.
6. This repeats until each child has a numeral.
7. To transition to another activity, start calling out the numerals in order and have the children line up.
