Materials

5 shoeboxes with lidscraft knife (adult only)rubber bands (2 per shoebox)15 wooden blockswood glue

Instructions

1. On the inside bottom of a shoebox, glue one wood block. Cut a 3" circle into the lid of the box (adult only). Cover the box with the lid and use two rubber bands to hold the lid in place.

2. Glue two blocks to the bottom of another box and cut a 3" circle in the lid. Repeat again, gluing three, four, and five blocks to the remaining three boxes.

3. Invite the children to place a hand inside a box, and determine how many blocks are inside using their sense of touch.
