Instructions

l Write the following clues on cards:
l When your grass grows too tall, I come to trim it down.
l I come whenever you have too many ants and roaches in your kitchen.
l I come every week to take away your garbage.
l I come early in the morning and leave something on the driveway for you
to read later.
l When someone sends you a letter, I'm the one who comes to your house
every day to bring it to you.
l You always know when I'm coming with my refrigerated truck, because
you can hear my music playing.
What To Do
1. Show the children the pictures of neighborhood workers and discuss how
these people help the community. Ask the children how many neighborhood
workers they have seen in their neighborhoods.
2. Ask a child to draw a card out of the bag. Read the clue to the children, and
challenge them to guess which community helper it describes.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Can the children identify the jobs in the pictures?
l Can the children guess the jobs the clues describe?
