Instructions

1. Children should not be in the room as you prepare. This is a good activity to do first thing in themorning or after playground activity.

2. Choose one fragrance per day. Put that fragrance on cotton balls and put the cotton on the jar lids.

3. Hide the lids somewhere in the room no higher than children's noses. Be sure to put the lids behindother objects so they will not be easily seen.

4. Line up the children, and give each child a card. Have a sample of the scent on hand, so the childrenknow what they are sniffing to find.

5. The object of the game is for children to use their noses to sniff around the room to find the source ofthe scent. When they do find one of the lids, they put their card on the place and go sit down. No otherchild may claim that lid. The children continue to search until they have all placed their cards.
