Instructions

1. Ask the children if they have ever played hide and seek. Invite them to describe some of their experiences with the game.

2. Do the following activity, modeling the gestures for the children.One: Close your eyes and turn around. (turn around)Two: Don't look up, and don't look down. (shake head "no" and point up and down)Three: Listen well to where I go. (hand cups ear)Four: There's no noise; I'm on tiptoes. (rise up on toes)Five: Feel a breeze? Am I nearby? (wave hand to create breeze)Six: Careful not to blink your eye! (blink)Seven: Am I on your left or right? (point each way)Eight: When you find me, hold me tight. (put arms around self in a hug)Nine: My only noise is a squeak. (make a squeaking noise)Ten: I'm all hidden; time to seek! (arms bent over heads as a "cover" to hide, or children run to an area designated as "home" or back to their seats on "seek")More to do Games: Play traditional hide and seek. Make sure to count as children hide.
