Materials

dark gold felt (12" x 18")

yellow felt

yarn

tape

black fabric paint or fabric markers

Instructions

1. Cut out a beehive shape from dark gold felt. Outline with black paint or
marker.
2. Cut out five bee shapes from yellow felt.
3. Draw or paint a black outline around each bee. Then paint one stripe on
one bee, two stripes on another bee, three stripes on another bee, four
stripes on another bee, and five stripes on the last bee.
4. Tape the bees in succession on a piece of yarn, with one at the top and
five at the bottom.
5. Place the beehive on the flannel board. Tuck the string of bees behind
and pull out one by one as you recite the following fingerplay.
Here is the beehive,
Where are the bees?
Hidden away where nobody sees.
Here they come buzzing out of the hive
1...2...3...4...5!
