Instructions

1. Ask the children to sit in a circle. Teach them to say:
Round is the circle,
Round is the game,
When I come to you
Please say your name.
2. As the children say the verse, pass around a small toy or other object.
When the verse ends, the child with the object responds, "My name is
(child's name)."
3. For variation, change the last line to favorite sport, color, animal, food, and
so on.
4. Children love to play this game! It helps promote self-esteem, language skills,
and socialization skills. It's great to play at the beginning of the year.
