Instructions

1. Cover the can with paper and glue in place. Cut a slit in the top of the plastic lid.

2. Hold up a penny. Ask the group what it is. After the children name the coin, ask them to listen to the sound it makes as you drop it in the container. Repeat with each type of coin.

3. Ask each child to come up and receive a coin. The child states what the coin is and drops it in the can. Let everyone have a turn.

4. After a few days of doing this, most of the children will know the names of the coins.
