Materials

Paper plates

Stapler

Markers

Collage materials and glue

Instructions

1. Staple two paper plates together, leaving enough space for a child's hand to slip between the two plates.

2. On one side of the plate, children can draw or use collage materials to make a happy face. On the other side, they can draw a sad face (or any emotion).

3. On the plate or on a separate piece of paper, help the children write what makes them happy, sad, angry, excited, and so on.

4. The child can flip her hand around as she talks about the different emotions.
