Instructions

1. Hold up a picture and ask the class to clap the parts (syllables) in each
picture. Sort the pictures by one, two, three, and four syllables.
Author's Note: Two wonderful sources of colored pictures on the Internet
are www.Kidzclub.com and www.PBS.org.
2. This excellent transition activity can be done at circle or group time, or any
time during the day. If pictures aren't available, simply say the words aloud
and have the children clap the syllables.
