Instructions
1. Ask the children to bring in pictures of their homes. Discuss what their housesare made of.2. Show the children pictures of different types of homes that people live inaround the world. Compare the houses in hot and cold places. Show thechildren a picture of an igloo and ask them if they know how to make one.3. Ahead of time, collect large Styrofoam packing pieces used for shipping andcut them into sections to resemble large blocks of ice.4. Give the Styrofoam pieces to the children to arrange into the shape of anigloo. Encourage the children to think about how they will get into and out ofthe igloo once it is built so they will realize the need to leave a doorway. Askthem to make the igloo large enough to be able to crawl inside and sit.5.
