Materials
one 2-liter plastic bottle for each child
craft knife
flower bulbs
small flowerpots
potting soil
small trowels or spoons
water
Instructions
1. Ask the children to lie down on butcher paper.
Trace each child's body on a piece of large
butcher paper.
2. Provide the following materials to
represent internal body parts:
* Heart: Cut a heart shape from
red construction paper.
* Lungs: Use textured paper
and cut into two oval "lung"
shapes.
* Stomach: Crumple tissue paper
(any color).
* Intestines: Use yarn.
* Bones: Use packing pieces.
3. Show the children a picture of a body with internal organs. Encourage them
to glue the different internal body parts on their tracing.
4. Help them label each inside body part.
5. Encourage the children to decorate other features such as hair, eyes, nose,
mouth, and feet with markers.
6. Use your imagination and add other materials to represent the various
internal organs.
