gourds of all shapes, colors, and sizes
paint
brushes
construction paper
scissors
glue
glitter, cotton balls, and yarn
Instructions
1. Put all the supplies in the art area.
2. Introduce the gourds to the children at circle time. Talk about their sizes,
colors, and shapes.
3. Ask the children if they think any of the gourds look like something else
(such as an animal). Ask them what they could do to the gourds to
transform them into something else.
4. Introduce the supplies at the art table and invite the children to decorate
their own gourds during free play.
5. Have an adult near by to keep the creative juices flowing. Be sure to
encourage and question, not take over the project with your influence.
