large collection of pairs of small, identical trinkets (avoid using prizes from

fast food restaurants)

small box with a lid

permanent markers

Instructions

1. Demonstrate how to press your thumb into the ink or paint and makethumbprints on white paper.2. Give each child a sheet of paper. Encourage the children to take turnsprinting.3. Keep soap, water, and towels close by for easy clean up.4. Let the prints dry.5. Encourage the children to use fine-point black pens to make faces on thefingerprints.6. If desired, the children can make animals, flowers, and so on with thethumbprints.More to doEncourage the children to use all their fingers to make prints.
