Instructions
1. Help the children put on their paint smocks or aprons.2. Help the children measure 1 cup (240 ml) each of white glue and liquidstarch and pour them into a bowl. Mix them together using a large spoon.3. Encourage the children to mix the ingredients together using their hands. It isvery gooey, so it's a good idea to wear gloves.4. As the children mix, point out how the ingredients are changing. Sometimes itwill solidify, yet have some extra liquid. If this happens, hold onto the solidpart and pour out the liquid.5. Once the mixture is solid, place it in a shallow tub for the children to touchand explore.6. As the silly putty is used, it begins to dry out. When it dries out, it can bepulled hard and it will snap. When it is in this stage, it is fun to cut it intochunks using old scissors.7. Store the silly putty in a plastic container with a tight lid or a zipper-closureplastic bag.8. This is great fine motor and sensory experience. It is almost magical how thetwo liquids react together and change.NOTE: If the silly putty sticks to something, Goo Gone(R) products are useful inremoving it. Or remove it as you would remove gum.
