Instructions

1. Capture the children's attention at story time by putting on a crown and
introducing yourself as Queen (or King) Forgetta Boutit.
2. Tell the children that you are forgetful and need their help remembering
how to read the book. (This works best with a book that is familiar to the
children.)
3. Show the children the back cover and ask them where you should start
reading. Allow the children to direct you to the front cover.
4. While you read the book, make mistakes and allow the children to correct
you. Turn the book upside down, read text right to left, read text top to
bottom, and begin reading from the middle of a sentence.
Social Development: Have Queen or King Forgetta Boutit help the children
review classroom procedures, such as cleanup, recess, snack, and so on.
