Instructions
1. From sandpaper, cut the following geometric shapes: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon, and hexagon. Each shape should be about 3".
2. Tell the children the names of the geometric shapes. Pass them around so the children can feel the difference in the shapes.
3. Have the children trace the shapes onto colored construction paper.
4. Ask them to cut out the shapes and punch a hole at the top of each shape.
5. Pour glitter on paper plates. Have the children spread glue on their shapes and dip them into the glitter. Shake off the excess glitter.
6. Cut different lengths of yarn. When the glitter has dried, tie the yarn through the shapes and tie to a coat hanger. Hang the mobiles on doorknobs, dresser pulls, or curtain rods.More to do Add more geometric shapes to the mobiles such as a rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid, and octagon.
