Instructions

* Halloween is celebrated on October 31st.
1. Write each of the following lines on a separate sentence strip:
Ghost so scary,
Ghost so white,
Don't scare ________
On Halloween night!
2. Insert the sentence strips into a pocket chart.
3. Teach the chant to the children. Give each child his or her photograph.
4. Have the children take turns using a pointer to direct attention to each
word as the chant is read. Have the child place his picture in the pocket
chart at the appropriate place.
5. Repeat until every child has had a turn putting his picture up and using
the pointer.
6. Invite the children to practice reading the chant and displaying the
pictures during free time.
