Materials

Come Into My Garden by Cynthia Rothman

2 or 3 medium-size cardboard boxes

Shredded brown paper

Plastic vegetables

Small plastic rakes and shovels

Aprons, straw hats, gardening gloves, and overalls

Wicker baskets or paper grocery bags (Do not use plastic grocery bags, which are

a safety hazard.)

Instructions

1. Throughout the year, save holiday paper plates.
2. Cut out the shape of pumpkins, turkeys, Santas, hearts, leprechauns, bunnies,
and so on from the plates.
3. Glue a craft stick to the back of each shape using Contact Cement.
4. These colorful puppets will add sparkle to your songs, stories, and units.
When you're not using them, place them in the Dramatic Play area for the
children to manipulate.
