From Caterpillar to Butterfly

Materials

glass jar

milkweed leaf

small stick

gauze

butterfly egg

paper

markers, crayons,

pencils

Instructions

1. Help the children make binoculars. Let each child decorate two
cardboard tubes with stickers and markers.
2. Tape the tubes together.
3. Punch a hole on the outer edge of each tube (adult only).
4. String the yarn through the holes and tie a knot.
5. Take the children for an "I Spy Adventure."
6. Encourage the children to look through
their binoculars and describe
something they see.
