Instructions

1. Use a copier to enlarge each child's photo to fit onto an 8 1/2 " x 11" (21 cm x
27 cm) piece of tag board.
2. Carefully glue the enlarged photo onto the tag board.
3. Allow the glue to dry.
4. Cut out an 8 1/2 " x 11" (21 cm x 27 cm) piece of wrapping paper. Glue it onto
the back of the tag board. Make sure to use different wrapping paper for
each face.
5. If desired, laminate the pictures.
6. Help the children cut the pictures into eight to ten pieces.
7. Put the pieces into a zipper closure bag and zip it closed. Label the bag with a
small photo of the child's face, her name, and a small piece of the wrapping
paper that is on the back of the puzzle.
8. Encourage the children to choose a puzzle and put it together. When they finish,
they can take it apart, put it into the correct bag, and pick another one.
(Some children may need help putting the correct pictures into the bags and
zipping them shut.)
9. Put the puzzles in a learning center and encourage the children to have fun
with them.
More to do
Ask the children to draw a picture. Show them how to make it into a puzzle,
using the same technique as above.
Games: Play a game by taking a puzzle out of a bag and giving the pieces to the
children. Ask them to put it together and figure out who it is!
Home Connection: On Parents Night, encourage the parents to exchange the
bags and try to put the puzzles together.
