Instructions
1. Shine a flashlight on a mirror. Tilt the mirror so the light bounces onto the ceiling, wall, or floor.
2. Wiggle and tilt the mirror to move the light.
3. Shine the light from one mirror to another and onto the ceiling or wall.
4. Explain to the children that light bounces off most objects that it hits and into our eyes. That is how we see.
5. Experiment using a periscope. Shine the flashlight into the top of the periscope and see it shine through the bottom.
6. Encourage the children to look through the periscope and observe how it works.More to do:Shine the light on other objects (shiny and dull). Do all objects reflect the same way?
