What to do
1. For each child, tear a sheet of foil long enough to cover their bottle. Show the children how to
wrap their bottle in foil, shaping the foil to the contour of the bottle and pinching it so it
adheres.
2. Paint the bottle in sections, immediately wiping some of the paint off with a rag, creating an
antique appearance.
3. Arrange real or artificial flowers in the vases and let the children present them as gifts for special
occasions such as Mother's or Father's Day.
More to do
Field trip: Visit a florist and watch a demonstration of flower arranging.
Gardening: Plant flowers from seeds and keep them on a sunny windowsill; label the seeds, using
their names to reinforce the alphabet as in A for Aster, Z for zinnia.
More art: Practice floral arranging with blocks of Styrofoam and artificial flowers and greenery.
