Instructions

l On card stock or poster board, write the question, "What do we find at a
restaurant?" in a horizontal box. Center a picture of people sitting in a
restaurant under the question.
What To Do
1. Talk about different cultures and the variety of foods and restaurants found
in cities.
2. Ask the children which foods and types of restaurants they prefer.
3. Show the collection of restaurant-related pictures to the children. Invite each
child to select one picture.
4. Ask the children to think of a name for the restaurant in the picture and tell
why they chose that name.
5. Invite the children to take turns gluing their restaurant pictures onto the
poster.
6. When the final picture is in place, display the completed poster on the wall to
decorate the classroom.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Can the children discuss their experiences in restaurants and name the items
in the pictures?
