numeral cards (1 to 5)

Instructions 

  1. Teach the children the following fingerplay.
  2. Choose five children to hold up numeral cards as the others recite the words and do the motions.

Five Little Stars
One little star up in the sky. (open and close fingers with hand held up)
Two little stars just shooting by. (point index fingers in different directions)
Three little stars shining, oh, so bright. (cross straightened arms, then sweep out)
Four little stars twinkling in the night. (both hands held high, opening and closing fingers)
Five little stars just fading away. (wiggle fingers, slowly lowering hands)
Sleep, little stars, here comes the day.
