Five Little Shapes by Susan Oldham Hill
Five little shapes in the world today.
Can you see them as you play?
One little square is a window to the sky.
One little triangle is the roof so high.
One little circle is a cookie so sweet.
One little rectangle is a cracker to eat.
And one little diamond is a kite in the clouds.
Can you say them all out loud? - Engage the children in a discussion about the meaning of each line.
- Ask the children to find other items in the room that match the shapes the song mentions.
Teacher-to-Teacher Tip
