Instructions

  1. Cut out five pumpkins from orange felt and a fence and gate from brown felt.

More to do
Place a copy of the book Five Little Pumpkins illustrated by Iris Van Rynbach in
the Listening Center, too.

Instructions

1. Ask the children to sit in a large circle. Give each child a turn to "compete" in
each of the "events."
2. Swing a jump rope back and forth and ask the children to jump over it.
3. Encourage each child to bounce a ball. Ask the child to count how many
bounces the ball makes.
4. Ask the children to jump from one hula hoop to another.
5. Encourage the children to walk across a balance beam (or a line of tape on
the floor).
6. Use the whistle to signify when to begin. Encourage the other children to
cheer and chant the child's name.
7. When all the children have had a turn, award the "medals" (chocolate coins)
or ribbons.
8. Ask each child to stand on a large block or crate to receive his medal.
