Instructions

1. When it is almost clean-up time, announce, "Five more minutes left to play."
2. When five minutes are up, say, "It's time to clean up." Then sing the
following song to the tune of "Skip to My Lou, My Darling" (or chant it).
Five more minutes left to play,
Five more minutes left to play,
Five more minutes left to play,
Five more minutes to play.
Clean up, clean up the room,
Clean up, clean up the room,
Clean up, clean up the room,
Clean up the room together.
3. Place labels, photos, or pictures cut from catalogs on shelves and areas where
the materials are to be placed. Encourage the children to look through
catalogs and find the items with you. Cut out the pictures and use clear
contact paper or wide clear tape to mount them where materials are to be
placed. Or use photos of the children putting away the materials.
