Instructions

What to do
1. Give each child a piece of poster board and suggest that they paint with tempera paints in a
swooping motion upward, to resemble fireworks bursting in the sky.
2. After the paint has dried, have the children use paintbrushes to paint glue on the picture in the
same swooping motion.
3. Let the children sprinkle glitter over their artwork. Shake off the excess, and allow the pictures
to dry for several hours.
4. Once dry, punch a hole in the top of each, and string a loop of yarn through the hole for hanging.
More to do
Snack: Make red, white, and blue sundaes. Let the children put strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries
on vanilla ice cream.
