Instructions

1. Read It Looked Like Spilt Milk to the children. Talk about all of the different
illustrations in the book. Explain to the children that they will be making their
own version of the book.
2. After the children put on paint smocks, give each child a piece of blue
construction paper.
3. Demonstrate how to fold the paper in half to make a crease down the
middle. Then unfold the paper.
4. Encourage the children to dribble or spoon a blob of white paint in the
middle of the paper. Help the children re-fold it on the crease.
5. Ask the children to press on the outside of the fold, causing the paint to
spread inside. When they are done, open the paper and let it dry.
6. Ask the children to dictate what they think their "blob" looks like as you write
the words underneath.
7. Staple the pages together and add a cover.
