Instructions

1. Set up a Farmers' Market in the Dramatic Play Center.
2. Label plastic bins or boxes and fill them with various vegetables from the
garden, such as apples, potatoes, onions, carrots, and peppers.
3. Make a farmers' stand by setting up a cash register in a puppet theater.
4. Some children will work for the farmer and some will be shoppers. Give children
bingo chips and bags to go shopping at the market. Encourage them to
fill their bags, go to the cash register, and count how many items are in their
bags. They can "pay" the farmer one chip for each item.
5. The children who work for the farmer can sort and return the food to their
appropriate bins. Rotate roles so each child gets a turn being the farmer.
