Instructions

1. Ahead of time, prepare a blank scrapbook for each child. Cut two covers from poster board and
inside pages (the same size) from construction paper. These can be as small or as large as you
want. Punch three holes along the left-hand sides of the front and back covers and the pages
of the book.
2. Write the words "My Family" on each cover. Invite the children to decorate their covers using the
decorating materials and glue. Set these aside to dry.
3. Give the children the inside pages. Tell them they can draw anything they want about their
homes and families. The first page could be a picture of their family, the second of their pets,
the third of where they live, the fourth of a family trip, etc.
4. For older children, you may want to label the pages with simple words to give them more
direction.
5. Assemble the front and back covers and the pages into a book by threading yarn or ribbon
through the holes on the left side.
6. Send the scrapbooks home with the children to share with their families.
