three favorite classroom books

Instructions

* Election Day is the second Tuesday in November.
1. Have a discussion about voting at circle time.
2. Explain that the children are going to vote for one of their three favorite
books.
3. Make a chart with three columns, one for each book. Write numbers on
the left side of the chart. Post the chart where everyone can see it.
4. Place one of the favorite books (or a representation) at the bottom of
each of the three columns of the chart.
5. Give each child a slip of paper with a loop of tape on the back.
6. One by one, have them vote for their favorite book by taping their piece
of paper directly above the book they like the best. Make sure they take
the next available location in the column.
8. Count each column of votes and discuss which book had the most votes.
9. Read the winning book to the group.
