Materials
pieces of driftwood or unusual objects from nature
paint
paintbrushes, sponges, or other painting implements
Instructions
1. During a transition time, talk about
skeletons, bones, and x-rays with the
children. Encourage them to pretend
to be doctors looking at x-rays.
2. Place a few x-rays in a window low
enough for the children to see.
3. After observing the x-rays, encourage
the children to draw their own x-rays
using transparency sheets and
markers.
More to do Science: Put books about skeletons on
the discovery table along with real sterilized chicken and turkey bones and
heavy cardboard. Encourage the children to glue the bones together on the
heavy cardboard to make "bodies" of animals or people.
