Instructions

1. Getting children's attention at a transition time can be difficult. Try turning it into a game.2. Talk about statues. Do they move? Do they talk?3. Encourage the children to practice being statues.4. Tell them the "secret signal" (for example, ring a bell, clap loudly, or blink the lights).5. Explain that when they hear or see the signal, they should freeze like a statue. Then, when they hear or see the signal again, they can move again.6. While they are "frozen" as statues, give them instructions for the next activity.7.
