Books about insects self-hardening clay or playdough beads toothpicks pieces of pipe cleaners
Instructions
1. Show the children books and pictures of various insects. Note the characteristics, such as six legs, two antennae, three body parts, wings or no wings, and so on.
2. Make a list of all the observable facts about insects.
3. Let the children make their own insects, using clay for the three body parts, pipe cleaners for the six legs and two antennae, and beads for the eyes.
