Materials

Large plastic dinosaurs, at least 4 different types

Paper

Marker

Magnifying glasses

Instructions

1. Attach each Valentine's Day card to construction paper strips using glue or
rubber cement.
2. Laminate the cards or cover them with clear contact paper.
3. Place all 20 cards face up on a table and encourage the children to scan the
collection to locate pairs of cards.
4. Use other cards for other holidays, if desired.

Add more sets of matching Valentine's cards to make the game more
challenging.
Games: Shuffle five of the matching pairs and place them face down on the
table in two rows of five cards. Play a memory game where each child turns over
two cards to try to locate a match.
Language: Ask the children to describe the action on each of the cards. For
example, Winnie the Pooh is holding a big heart.
