Brown paper grocery bags
Scissors
Cotton swabs
Shallow dishes
Paint in fall colors, such as orange, yellow, brown, green, and red
Clear contact paper or laminate, optional
Instructions
1. Purchase boxes or bags in different colors. If colored boxes or bags aren't
available, wrap, color, or paint them various colors.
2. Place items that match the color box or bag inside each one.
3. Write the color of the bag or box on a label or index card and tape it to the
front.
4. During circle time, give each child a bag and ask her to pull an item from the
bag while guessing what it may be.
5. Place the bags on a table with the magnifiers for further exploration.
