Instructions

1. This is a great activity to do at the beginning of the school year to help the
children become acquainted with the new environment. The children will go
on a hunt around the building for George, allowing them to see the entire
school and meet different people.
2. Before the children arrive, hide bananas throughout the building.
3. Introduce Curious George (the monkey) to the children in the morning. Read
any Curious George book by H.A. and Margret Rey.
4. While the children are busy with activities, hide George and leave a note that
he went on an adventure. Leave one banana on the chair where George was
sitting.
5. When someone notices that George is missing, talk about having to search
for him and the fact that he may have left clues.
6. Take the children throughout the building to look for all the bananas (the
clues).
7. While you and the children are out of the room, have another adult put
George back in the classroom in his seat.
Tip: This can be done with different characters such as Peter Rabbit (using
carrots for clues).
