Materials

3 packages grape flavor gelatin1 package orange flavor gelatin

Large bowl and mixing spoon2 1/2 cups (600 ml) boiling water (adult only)13" x 9" (32 cm x 22 cm) pan

Refrigerator

Bat-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

1. Empty the gelatin packets into a large bowl.

2. Pour boiling water (adult only) into the bowl. Stir for three minutes or until the gelatin is completely dissolved. (Do not add cold water.)3. Help the children pour the gelatin into a 13" x 9" (32 cm x 22 cm) pan.

4. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until firm.

5. Remove the pan from the refrigerator and dip the bottom of the pan in warm water for about 15 seconds.

6. Cut the gelatin into bat shapes using a bat-shaped cookie cutter. Make sure to cut all the way through the gelatin.

7. Remove the bats from pan. Eat and enjoy!More to doCut out bats from construction paper. Hang them from the classroom ceiling.
