1. Say this poem slowly and have the children
pretend they are cats and move as the poem
dictates.

Creepy cats (get on all fours and arch backs)
Furry cats (pretend to wash like a cat)
Purry cats (make purring noise)
Huggy cats (hug each other)
Ruggy cats (curl up on rug)
2. When children become "ruggy cats," they remain quietly on the rug for a
story.
