computer-generated carrots tagboard paper cutter pocket chart 12" x 18" construction paper color scanner glue stick laminating machine scissorsInstructions
1. On tagboard, print computer-generated carrots programmed with sight
words you want to reinforce.
2. Using a paper cutter, cut the cards to the desired size.
3. If desired, make a header card to go in the top row of a pocket chart.
Print the title of the activity and instructions: "Place the carrots with
words you can read on the word wall."
4. If desired, make a file jacket from 12" x 18" construction paper to hold the
activity.
5. Using a color scanner, make a reduced-size printout of the activity
showing the header card and all the carrot word cards. Glue color
printout to the back of the file jacket.
6. Laminate the header card, carrot cards, and file jacket for durability, and
cut out.
7. Hold up a word card. Ask the children to identify each word as you place
it in the pocket chart.
8. Continue in this manner until all the carrots are in place.
9. Use the picture reference on the back of the file jacket to ensure that all
cards are accounted for when you put them away at the end of the
month.
