Materials

large sheet (or a space behind a barrier large enough for a child to hide in)

Instructions

1. Ask the children to close their eyes. Choose a child to sneak away and hide under the sheet or behind the barrier so the others can't see her.

2. Ask the child who is hiding to clap her hands a number of times from 1 to 10.

3. Choose another child to count the number of claps and report the correct number. Then ask everyone to clap the number together.

4. Repeat with another child and a different number of claps.

5. As a variation, hold up a number card and have the group clap a specific number of times. Ask the child who is hiding to tell how many claps she heard.
