Materials

Cook-A-Doodle-Doo by Susan Stevens Crummel and Janet Stevens

paper and markers

strawberries

plastic knives

all-purpose baking mix (such as Bisquick)

butter

milk

sugar

whipping cream

vanilla

measuring cups and spoons

mixing bowl and mixing spoon

oven (adult only)

Instructions

1. Cut a strip of tan paper 2" wide and 12" long to make a handle.
2. Make a toolbox pattern as shown on cardboard (see illustration). Trace it on
tan paper and cut out.
3. Fold on the dashed lines. Glue the ends of the handle
piece to the inside of the end flaps, and glue the side
flaps to the end flaps to form a rectangular box.
4. Use cardboard to make patterns for tools (see
illustration). Trace the patterns on oak tag.
5. Color the tools' handles with markers and cut
out the tools. Use pinking shears to cut the
sharp side of the saw.
6. Cut two sides of pliers, and connect them
with a paper fastener.
7. Put the tools, tape measure, and sandpaper into the toolbox.
