What to Do
1. Discuss the importance of a healthy diet. Explain that eating healthy foods

not eating too much. Ask children, "What are healthy foods to snack on?"
Explain that nutritious, healthy foods give us nutrients, vitamins, and other
things we need to stay healthy.
2. Give each child a circle pattern and the pictures of healthy foods that you
pulled out of the magazines.
3. Have the children look through the pictures for things they like to eat.
4. When they find a picture, they should trace their circle pattern on it and cut it
out. They will each need five circles showing five different healthy foods.
5. Circulate among the children, helping them cut out the foods, arrange the
circles in a row on a sheet of paper, and glue the circles down.
