Instructions

1. In advance, cut pieces of string or yarn for children to use as necklaces or bracelets. Wrap masking tape around the ends of each piece to help with lacing.

2. Make index cards with pattern colors for the children to follow while creating their necklace or bracelet.

3. For younger children, use colored lines to create the pattern on the card, and for older children use letters (for example: RGRGR). Make sure to write the letter in the same color marker (R should be red, G should be green).

4. Cut straws into 1/2 " pieces.

5. Give each child a string, some straws, and an index card.

6. Help them follow the index card to create a pattern or help them make their own pattern.
