Materials

4 small bottles of food coloring 8 clear plastic punch cups8 index cards Red, yellow, blue and green 1" (2.5 cm)dots, purchased from stationery store

Instructions

1. Set this activity up as a center. Fill each punch cup half-full with water. Assemble the cups in a row.

2. Create color cards by sticking color dots onto the blank cards, one color per card. Place one color card on the table in front of each cup.

3. Instruct the children to drop the same number of food coloring drops on the corresponding color cards into each cup and observe the resulting color.More to doArt: Children can experiment mixing colors using tempera paint.
