Materials

Cardboard magnifying glasses (enough for each child in the class)

Instructions

1. Plan a color day each month. On that day the children may either wear or bring something in that is the color of the month.

2. The art activity, as well as snack, is centered around the color of the month on that day. For example, if the color is yellow, you might have bananas and lemonade for snack.

3. At circle time, each child has a chance to show what they brought or wore with the special color.

4. Then explain that you need some color detectives to help find all the red (or yellow, etc.) in the classroom. More than likely, every child's hand will go up! Give each child a magnifying glass to help search for the color.
