Instructions
1. Create a classroom scrapbook to help teach math skills to the children.
2. Take several photographs of various groups of children in the classroom. Make sure that everyone is included in one or more pictures.
3. Paste the pictures on pieces of tagboard or construction paper and then decorate each page using the stickers or other scrapbooking materials.
4. Write numerals, number words (one, two, and so on), or patterns (ABAB) on the pages accordingly. For example, if there are two children in one picture, write a "2" or a "two" on the page.
5. Place the scrapbook at a special table. Invite the children to "read" the scrapbook. Encourage them to count the number of children in each picture, identify patterns, recognize numerals, and so on.
6. Add to the scrapbook as the school year progresses. By the end of the year you will have a special record and keepsake that children and parents can enjoy for years to come.Note: Invite two or more parents with scrapbooking experience to work on this project together. Invite parents to donate some of the scrapbooking materials.
