Materials

wooden cube with sides numbered 0 to 5

Instructions

1. This game works best with a small group of three to six children.

2. The children sit in a circle and take turns rolling the cube.

3. The child claps the number that the cube lands on.

4. This game reinforces numeral recognition. It is especially good for teaching the concept of zero.

5. Instead of clapping, children can stand and stamp their feet, click their tongue, snap their fingers, or whatever else you choose.

6. Increase the difficulty by adding a second cube with 0 and 6 to 10.
